The SR Junior Chorus, a fine chorus for students in Grades 3 - 8, who are interested in learning and performing advanced repertoire, performed on Sunday, April 2, with the Trinity Chamber Chorus.
The professional singers in the adult choir had words of high praise for the tone and quality of singing of the Junior Chorus calling the singing of the girls, "angelic" when they sang the Bach/Gounod "Ave Maria."
The encore piece was Edgar Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance," where both the Junior Chorus and the 16 voiced professional adult choir sang together. Many audience members commented that our girls powerfully held their own in this piece while also blending beautifully with the professional chorus and the orchestra.
The other orchestral works performed provided a real experience of personal growth for our girls. They heard top notch classical works done expertly which they enjoyed.
The Junior Chorus has been directed by Nancy Fazio for 34 seasons. Bravo to all!
The next Junior Chorus event will be singing the 5:00 pm Mass at the Franciscan Monastery on May 6.
