Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Ms. Black, and Middle School Counselor, Mrs. Hallock guided our Middle School student council reps to lead Mix It Up Day activities. The activities focused on celebrating student's unique or different qualities.
For one activity, the students wrote their names and qualities on a jigsaw puzzle piece. The puzzle was put together to demonstrate that even with these differences the girls all come together at SR.
During lunch, the students were assigned to different tables to Mix It Up. There were questions on the table to help them start a conversation with a new lunch mate. The goal is to teach our students to step out of their own boxes to create a more cohesive environment.
