Ana Clara Borga '18 participated in the Teen Summer Program 2017 in Washington, DC. This is a selective three-week program at the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and the Inter-American Development Bank. The group consisted of 40 participants representing nations from all over the world, which brought in many different points of view. The discussions included a wide range of topics, such as road safety in Colombia, economic development in Ukraine, and young women's social engagement in India. The teens also role-played at the board of the institutions, guided by actual board members. Working in groups, they were able to debate on current global issues and learned to defend their own opinions. Ana said, "the program gave me an opportunity to analyze and propose solutions to real-life development challenges with the help of staff and professionals from the organizations."
