Decorated in blue and gold spirit regalia, the Stone Ridge gym was the place to be on September 15, as students gathered to celebrate one of Stone Ridge's newest traditions – the Blue/Gold Induction Ceremony.

Each year, new students to Stone Ridge learn whether they will be on the Blue or Gold teams. For 2017, 127 new students learned their lifelong color of True Blue or Bold Gold. They watched a video learning about school spirit throughout the year culminating in Father/Daughter Field Day. And yes they learned the winning team at the end of the year gets to ring the bell at the aquatic center as well as fly their flag all year at Gator Field.

The event, which was organized and led by Athletic Association leaders Sophie Lovett '18 and Mollie Carr '18, along with Blue/Gold captains from each grade level, consisted of dance-offs, cheer-offs, lip sync contests, knockout basketball competitions, T-shirt tossing, and good old fashioned suspense when calling students down to join their lifelong team. In short, it was a blast!

The show got started with an impromptu singing of Sweet Caroline, and for anyone present they will never forgot it because literally the entire student body grade 1-12 displayed a synergy only a true community could. Likewise, there were many memorable moments for all Lower, Middle and Upper school Gators. #GatorStrong #goSRgators
